The current guideliness for flying in the Covid environment are:
The government’s roadmap allows people to take part in formally organized outdoor sports from 29th March. The BMFA has confirmed that club flying falls into this category and, as a consequence, we may start using the patch from that date. Clubs are also exempt from the gathering limit, but there is a need to follow Covid Secure guidance. The arrangements for use of our site generally follow those that we published last year but with a number of subtle changes. The main requirements are:
Anyone displaying symptoms of COVID-19, or who shares a household with any individual displaying symptoms, must not fly and should stay at home to maintain social isolation in accordance with government advice.
Consider all surfaces to be contaminated.
Latex/Nitrile/Vinyl gloves to be worn or hand sanitizer used immediately before and immediately after opening/unlocking and closing/locking access gates and padlocks.
Unless they are a member of your household, maintain a minimum 2 meter separation to other club members at all times.
The “Daily Flying” WhatsApp Group has been retired and replaced with a Team Up Calendar which MUST be used for all visits to the site as we are required to keep Track and Trace records for all visits.
The Risk Assessment has been reviewed and amended to allow up to eight members including parents/guardians/carers where appropriate.
Vehicles to be parked “nose to the hedge in the marked spaces along the eastern hedge or the two spaces at the Southern end of the containers.
The Club container is only to be accessed for the purposes of field maintenance battery charging and accessing the surface cleaning spray and hand sanitizer.
Any common use items must be sanitized before and after use.
If possible try to bring enough fully charged batteries for your proposed flights, to limit the use of the club facilities.
Other than the two outside tables no other club tables can be used, please bring your own or “Pit on the Ground”.
The Club Buddy Box system and trainer are not available for general use.
Do not share tools or Transmitters.
Do not touch other members models, if your model cannot be operated without assistance, do not fly.
A maximum of three pilots separated by at least 2m to be allowed on the flight line at any one time. If a spotter is required they must stand 2m behind the flight line.
All waste including discarded gloves to be removed from site.
